The Chancellor of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, described as constructive the meeting of Chancellors held in Bavaro, Punta Cana, prior to the 5th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).
“It was a constructive journey. We have just closed the declaration of Punta Cana, which will be raised tomorrow to the approval of the Heads of State and Government. Venezuela had very important achievements”.
The Chancellor assured that “The support of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States in rejecting the executive order of former President Barack Obama was confirmed” (…) we have the support of CELAC, which once again reiterates its request to be reversed this executive order. ”
Rodríguez reported that the process of national dialogue between the Bolivarian Government and the Venezuelan opposition was also endorsed: “To be respected the agreements reached by both the Government of President Maduro and the Venezuelan opposition, and was acknowledged the extraordinary work which has done the Secretary General of UNASUR, Ernesto Samper, as well as the special envoy of His Holiness Pope Francis, and former Presidents Torrijos, Fernandez and Zapatero.
The Chancellor assured that “These are achievements of Venezuelan diplomacy, it is a recognition of the reality of what Venezuela means for the region and for CELAC.”
